Our deep commitment to safety guides our approach to everything at Amazon Flex. Here are some of the ways we prioritise safety so you can earn and deliver with confidence.
Safe deliveries in the community
Safety first: You are in the driver’s seat when delivering with Amazon Flex, and your safety is our priority. If you arrive at a delivery location and do not feel safe, you can contact Driver Support through the Amazon Flex app. We don’t expect you to ever make a delivery if you feel unsafe.
Safety requirements: To help ensure the safety of Amazon Flex delivery partners, everyone within Amazon Logistics, Amazon Fresh, Sub-Same Day, and Amazon Now delivery station premises must wear a high-visibility safety vest. Inappropriate footwear, such as open-heel-and-toe shoes, is also prohibited within Amazon Logistics, Amazon Fresh, Sub-Same Day, and Amazon Now delivery station premises. High-visibility, reflective safety vests are available for you at any Amazon Logistics, Amazon Fresh, or Amazon Now station at no cost to you. For e-bike deliveries, you are required to wear a helmet. We strongly recommend Amazon Flex delivery partners wear a high-visibility safety vest, and avoid wearing inappropriate footwear, on the road and at all other types of pickup locations.

Delivery block design: All Amazon Flex delivery blocks are scheduled so that they can be safely completed within the allocated block time, taking into account factors such as weather and road conditions.
Customer and community accountability: If you have a safety concern, you can report it to Driver Support through the Amazon Flex app. Reporting incidents helps us research and follow up on them, to help keep you safe, and hold customers and community members accountable.
Sexual harassment policy: At Amazon, we believe everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. We do not tolerate inappropriate conduct, including discrimination or harassment, from anyone. Find more information about Amazon Flex’s sexual harassment policy here. You can make a confidential report through the Driver Escalations Hotline at EthicsPoint. Please report any violations, including theft, safety, harassment and discrimination any time here.
Support when you drive and deliver
Dedicated support: Our Driver Support team is there for you if you ever need help when delivering. You can quickly connect with Driver Support through the Amazon Flex app, and speak with someone from our dedicated Driver Support team.
Emergency assistance: If you have an emergency when you’re delivering, the Emergency Help button is easy to access from the main menu in the Amazon Flex app. The Emergency Help button offers the option to contact 999 or the Amazon Emergency Helpline for assistance in reporting a safety concern or accident. Always call 999 before contacting the Amazon Emergency Helpline if you need emergency services.

Technology to help you stay safe
Pet alerts: You can check your Amazon Flex app for a paw print icon in the delivery notes to see if there might be a dog at your delivery stop. These paw print icons are added into the Amazon Flex app through the help of our customers and delivery partners who report this information. The Amazon Flex app also provides safety videos, answers to frequently asked questions, and information on pet safety support on how to stay safe when a dog, or any other pet is present.
Optimised maps: Amazon Flex maps helps you navigate and shows road closure alerts, so you can choose which route to take. You can also choose to set your maps to dark mode to reduce eye strain and help make the screen easier to read, especially at night. Additionally, you can download offline maps to your phone, and even set your device to have the Amazon Flex app automatically download offline maps whenever you are connected to Wi-Fi. This helps you to reliably get where you’re going no matter what mobile coverage is offered in the area.
Customer chat: You can call or text customers about their delivery through the Amazon Flex app. To protect your personal information, we keep your phone number hidden and customers simply see an Amazon number. The Amazon Flex app also has a ‘Notify of Arrival’ feature. Car insurance: While you're free to choose your commercial insurance provider, we’ve worked with the companies listed below to offer insurance products suited to the needs of Amazon Flex delivery partners:

E-bike insurance: You’re free to choose any public liability and personal accident insurance provider that may have products suited to your needs.
Safe deliveries on e-bikes
Your safety is our priority when delivering with an e-bike. You must wear a helmet while delivering with an e-bike. We recommend one with a chinstrap and face shields for added protection. We also recommend wearing a reflective, high-visibility safety vest. Ensure your delivery bag is properly secured and balanced to maintain stability while delivering. Best practices include riding in the direction of traffic, using bike lanes whenever available, and keeping both hands on the handlebars except when signalling. Always obey traffic laws, signals, and signs.
We may conduct safety checks at the pickup location to help ensure that your vehicle is ready to deliver packages safely and meets legal requirements. You will not be able to deliver if your vehicle does not pass the check.
E-bike safety checks may include items such as making sure the frame and tyres are not damaged, and the brakes and chain are in working order. Additionally, e-bikes may be inspected to ensure they meet the legal requirement of not exceeding 3.7 mph without pedalling. Please note, if your e-bike does not meet legal requirements, you will no longer be eligible to deliver with Amazon Flex.
Car maintenance discounts: You are eligible for deals and discounts via Onsi as soon as you sign-up as a delivery partner. Onsi offers discounted prices on fuel, tyres and maintenance services from leading brands, ensuring your car stays well maintained and enhancing your safety on the road. As soon as you complete onboarding with Amazon Flex, you will receive information about how to sign up for Onsi via Email and the in-app Newsfeed.
